The ICE Initiative
The
ICE Initiative is a multi-year project to establish a post-secondary
Institute for Cultural Enterprise. There are currently no
post-secondary institutions in Canada that offer significant business
content tailored to the needs of Canada's cultural community, despite
the sector having an annual economic impact of over $85 billion.
The
ICE Initiative will address this by providing accredited,
university-level programming that is project driven and tailored to
each individual student's needs. Students will leave the program with
both theoretical and practical business knowledge that is specific to
their own cultural niche, thus enhancing the likelihood of professional
success.
The first three courses are currently
undergoing testing, and will be available to institutions for the
2009/2010 academic year. They are:
1. Introduction to Cultural Enterprise
2. Cultural Enterprise by the Numbers
3. The Human Face of Cultural Enterprise
Each course includes all reading material, twelve audio lectures, and integrated online assessment.
